“Mr. Showmanship!” is an all-live, terrifically entertaining tribute to the 20th century’s greatest showman, Liberace! Renowned pianist Walter Whipple, backed by a full compliment of skilled musicians, dancers and technicians, performs all of Liberace’s signature pieces, including Malagueña, Beer Barrel Polka, Chopsticks and his sentimental closing number I’ll Be Seeing You. If you fondly remember Liberace, or if you always wanted to see him in person, you won’t want to miss the one show that combines authentic piano virtuosity, fabulous costumes, choreography and comedy to create a dazzling portrayal of the beloved artist the world came to know as “Mr. Showmanship!”
The performance takes place on Sunday, April 21st, 2013 at the Miami Elks Lodge #948, 10301 SW 72nd Street, Miami, FL, 33173. There are two shows, the first at 2:00 and the other at 7:00 p.m. Ticket prices are $30.00 general admission, $25.00 seniors and $20.00 Elks Club Members. A buffet dinner is also available between the two shows from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. for an additional price of $10.00 per person. ~ Concert Pianist Walter Whipple ~
has traveled the world performing as a soloist and with a wide variety of ensembles. His experience ranges from Bach to Rock. Whipple has been a featured artist with several symphony orchestras throughout the United States, the Harry James Orchestra, and performed in the Tchaikovsky International Piano Competition which was held in Moscow. He has performed solo recitals throughout the United States, Europe and the former Soviet Union. Whipple has cruised the world, performing on Disney, Norwegian, Holland America and Carnival cruise ships.
~ Flamenco Artist Cristina Masdueño ~
is a native of Havana, Cuba and began her dance training at a very early age. She has performed throughout the U.S., Europe and Central America. As a principal dancer with Ballet Español Rosita Segovia, has also performed in productions sponsored by the Ministry of Cultural Affairs in Barcelona, the Maria Benitez Spanish Dance Company during its 1987 New York Season and its 1989 Tour of the United States. She has taught for such prestigious conservatories in Florida as The Harrid Conservatory in Boca Raton, New World School of the Arts, Conchita Espinosa Academy, South Florida Ballet, and in 2000 was a co-founder of Dance-O-Rama. In September 2003, Ms. Masdueño founded the International Institute of Fine Arts.
~ Marilyn Morales, Pianist ~
Musical Director of “Mr. Showmanship,” is a graduate of Miami Dade College and Boston University. She is the Artistic Director of The Unconservatory, a national non-profit musical organization, and Cranberry Coast Concerts. She has been listed in “Quien es Quien,” the Spanish version of “Who’s Who.” Ms. Morales tours the world as a piano duo with husband Kirk Whipple and with him founded The Unconservatory Festival Orchestra and The United Nations Piano Quartet. She also directs Gala For Two Pianos and Second Saturday Soirées, annual music festivals in Miami, Florida.
~ Ubaldo Henriquez, Master of Ceremonies ~
is the President of the Board of Directors of The Unconservatory. He is a well-known actor and presenter in Miami and has been the host of several “Viernes Culturales” in Little Havana. He co-hosted “Solo Para Mayores,” an arts program on Telemiami. Ubaldo produced a long-running TV show in New York, “Jugando con las Estrellas,” which presented many well-known Hispanic celebrities. He has always been a promoter of culture – and especially in the service of educating children.

On April 9 from 6pm to 9pm, The Palms at Town & Country will host the first-ever restaurant crawl in Kendall, THE PALMS CRAWL. This delicious tasting event will feature the area’s most sought-after restaurants.
