In preparation for an exciting new year, the Doral Business Council Forum is already lining up officers to take over in January to insure a smooth transition. Forum 2012 membership Chair, Lizz Wiegandt, of Mary Kay, has been elected to take over the reins from current DBC Forum Chair, Gloria Burns, of Miami Christian School and Miami’s Community Newspapers.
Max Fleischer, of Send Out cards, will continue as Vice Chair while other steering committee members will be named at a later date. Currently holding positions on the DBC Forum with Burns and Fleischer are Treasurer and past Forum Chair, Marti Bueso, of Home Financing Center; Secretary and former Chair of the DBC Women’s Alliance Group, Norris Perez of Halo Branded Solutions; Emcee and former Forum Chair Carlos Ruiz of Ruiz Insurance; Attendance, Theresa Gonza- lez of Airtech Air; Historian, past Forum Chair and current DBC Board of Director/ Treasurer, Armando Fernan- dez of HBW Securities; and Check-in, Reza Ray of Minuteman Press.
The DBC Forum is a networking group under the umbrella of the DBC whose members are offered category exclusivity. Many categories are available for DBC members who wish to apply.
The group meets the first and third Wednesday of every month and also has socials on occasion to further enforce ties and invite prospective DBC and DBC Forum members. Attendance at breakfast meetings is critical and when members are unable to meet the requirement, categories open up.
“If your business category is filled, wait list your business”, advises Wiegandt.
The DBC’s next After Hours with the DBC Forum will be at Carolina Ale House on Tuesday, Oct. 23, 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. Restaurant owner Joe Marouf has generously offered to once again host the affair.
