Criminal Justice Program Begins at Everest Institute

The Hialeah campus of Everest Institute has announced the addition of a Criminal Justice – Social and Youth Services program to its curriculum, providing students with an opportunity to train for careers within the field of criminal justice.

The nine-month program studies judicial concepts, law and crime with a focus on juvenile justice and victim’s advocacy. Students will work for a diploma while learning to prepare for careers of basic support in the criminal justice job market.

Career titles may include youth mentor, youth care worker, youth mentor, intake specialist and outreach specialist.

“Graduates will be job-ready in a criminal justice market that is expected to have above average growth,” said Fran Heaston, president of Everest Institute. “The Bureau of Labor Statistics anticipates the need for social and human services assistants will grow by 28 percent from 2010 to 2020,”

Everest Institute places special emphasis on oral and written communication, with additional training in professional development for career advancement.

Upon graduation, Everest offers its students career placement services in the fields for which they are trained.
